2013 Toyota Tacoma Victoria

false false
Great things come in smaller packages, just like the compact Toyota Tacoma, smaller shape but packed with the punch that is required to get even the dirtiest jobs done. Loaded with muscle, the Tacoma can tow up to 6,500 pounds; that's one truck you will not want to mess with.

The 2013 Toyota Tacoma is the epitome of muscle, durability, and strength. The angular lines, charismatic curves, and an even more forceful front fascia, give Tacoma a boldly styled exterior with plenty of tough truck + attitude = truckatude. Last year, Toyota gave the Tacoma a sharper more defined look in the front, complete with headlamps wrapped into the grille, higher turn signals that stretch the shape of the grille and flared wheel wells and fenders add a touch of aggression or sportiness. These features have been carried over to the 2013 model, creating a relatively traditional compact truck design that is down to business.

The interior is the perfect combination of comfort and functionality, where everything has a place to most effectively utilize all the space possible, including under rear seat storage compartments on all models that provide plenty of cargo space. Subtle changes have toned down the Tacoma's rough and tuff interior, including a blackened center-stack area (around the climate and audio controls), and replaced the red/orange backlight with a cool blue. It also comes loaded with standard features including black carpeting and all-weather floor mats, and plenty of room for cargo, and Tacoma weighs in as one of the most versatile, quality-laden trucks on- or off-road

Even thought the Tacoma is a compact truck, there is nothing compact about the long list of things it's capable of. The Tacoma offers four different models: 4x2 Access Cab, 4x4 Access Cab, 4x4 Access Cab V6, and 4x4 Double Cab V6. It boasts two possible engines for maximum satisfaction. Tacoma's powerful 2.7L 16-Valve DOHC 4-Cylinder engine generates a sturdy 159 horsepower while cranking out 180 lb.ft. of torque ? smoothly deployed by Toyota's advanced Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence (VVT-i). Tacoma's larger, stronger, 4.0L DOHC V6 Engine offers a burly 236 horsepower, while pounding out 266 lb.ft. of trail-tackling torque ? kept in check by Toyota's Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence (VVT-i). On all V6 models, you have the option of a finely tuned 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, while the four-cylinder comes in a 5-speed automatic only.

One of the Tacoma's more identifiable features is its off-road capabilities, with a reliable independent double wishbone type suspension in the front and bringing up the rear are leaf springs and bias mounted gas shocks that provide a responsive, level ride. In addition, all models feature a limited slip differential that works to maintain the equal distribution of torque between the rear wheels, helping to minimize slippage if one or more tires lose traction.

Fuel efficiency is not generally what pickup trucks are known for, but that is where mid-sized trucks tend to outshine the full-sized pickup trucks. This is due in large part to the available four-cylinder offering that the Toyota Tacoma offers in its base model, coming in at 9.9L/100km in the city and 7.5L/100km on the highway. Keep in mind that while these are very good numbers for a truck, they will differ slightly depending on which model you choose.

The Tacoma is equipped with Toyota's Star Safety System, and all models feature the advanced control delivered by vehicle stability control and traction control. Passenger safety is Toyota's number one concern, so each Tacoma offers 3-point lap and shoulder belts to help protect occupants in all positions, active front headrests that automatically adjust in the event of a rear end collision to help reduce whiplash potential, and a full set of airbags.

With four models to choose from, all loaded with a number of standard features to increase convenience and performance, and a plethora of available features, it's easy to customize a Tacoma to become as full of personality as you. Much of the Tacoma's appeal comes from its various special models and packages. The TRD Off-Road Package is perhaps the most popular, with a combination of appearance and performance items. Other options include the Power Package, including keyless entry and leather wrapped steering wheel or the Limited Package, boasting an upgrade audio system, heated front seats and so much more!

The 2013 Tacoma proves time and time again that it can get the job done with better fuel economy and at a very affordable price. This rugged and versatile truck can do any job on or off road that you can, only thing to do now is test it.
